The Song of Songs
Also known as Song of Solomon or "Canticles" (lyrics), this love story pictures the courtship and married love of Solomon and his prized wife, the Shulamite woman. Written around the 900s BC, this poetic, at times symbolic, and even juicy love story not only clarifies a biblical picture of holy marriage (in contrast to extremes of asceticism on the one hand and immorality on the other), but it also pictures the inseparable, all-important story of Christ and His church!
